Technologist III – MSK Commack- Part-Time Exciting opportunity at

Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine! Our innovative
clinical laboratories provide sophisticated technology and
automated equipment that allow our teams to get to answers faster
and more efficiently, with a strong emphasis on applied and

make to the development of new laboratory tests and diagnostic
platforms! Interested in hearing more? We are currently seeking a
part-time Laboratory Technologist III to join MSK Commack Clinical
Laboratories. Role Overview: Prepare and analyze samples according
to written standard protocols; Assist with instrument maintenance
and quality control procedures. Operate equipment carefully and
according to procedures; Help maintain commonly used equipment and
resolve minor equipment problems. Assure equipment and instruments
meet performance standards. Assure the accuracy of all tests
performed by adhering to the laboratory’s Quality Control Standard
Operating Procedures. Perform and maintain competency in the
technical and related work of the laboratory. Functions as
supervisor in supervisor's absence. Reviews workload and workflow
and makes recommendations on procedures to improve efficiency and
to respond to changes. Monitors staff activities to assure
accurate, thorough completion of work; Notify supervisor of
discrepancies and record corrective action taken. Updates
procedures when appropriate and assists in writing new technical
procedures. Makes recommendations for updating procedure manuals.
Assists supervisor to develop, evaluate, modify, and implement new
procedures and new products. Learns new instrumentation, reviews
preliminary work, and reads relevant literature prior to developing
procedures. Compiles data and writes validation, as required. Key
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (Medical Technology, Biology, or
Clinical Laboratory Sciences) required 6 years of experience
required. NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License Required
ASCP preferred Additional Information: Monday and Wednesday,
11AM-7PM with rotating Saturdays. Location: MSK Commack, 650
Commack Rd, Commack, NY Reports into: Manager, Pathology and
