Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: Orangeburg, NY
Hours: 1st shift-8am-5pm
Duration: Contract to Hire


Performs electrical, plumbing, carpentry, locksmithing and painting work to maintain building.
Under the direction of the Sr. Facilities Technician-HVAC, performs routine HVAC system preventative maintenance work; determine HVAC system problems and make recommendations for repair.
Moves and relocates office furniture; make adjustments to desks, chairs and files.
Assists with the roof maintenance program; inspects condition of roofs; clean roof gutters and drains.
Assists with the parking lot lighting program; install and repair lamps, ballasts and covers. Repairs locking systems on doors, files, cabinets and lockers.
Operates a variety of hand and power equipment in a safe and effective manner.
Schedules preventative maintenance services.
Assists with the building maintenance contract and service work; process and contract out repair requests.
Inspects facilities, buildings and grounds for routine maintenance; prioritize repairs and renovations.
Ensures facilities and buildings are in compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act and other federal guidelines and safety regulations.
Reads and interprets blueprints and plans.
Works independently in the absence of supervision.
Understands and follows oral and written instructions.
Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Requisitions building maintenance supplies, material and equipment; monitor inventory; load and unload supplies.
Loads and delivers tables and chairs to special events.
Run errands as needed.
Perform related duties as required
