Job Description AdvantageCare Physicians (ACPNY) is a primary and specialty care practice serving half a million patients across the New York metropolitan area. As we grow, our employees grow with us. Summary of Position We are seeking a Rheumatology trained physician to join us in pursuit of high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate - 1-3 years clinical experience in an outpatient setting - Patient-centered approach toward a positive patient experience - Excellent communication skills - Interest in Population Health Principal Accountabilities - Review patient’s history and perform physical examination. - Evaluate, diagnose and provide appropriate treatment and patient care. - Recommend and order lab tests including X-rays of the joints to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. - Diagnose disorders and diseases of the musculoskeletal system and immune system. - Diagnose and treat rheumatic disorders of the skeletal system, muscles and joints. - Treat patients with rheumatic diseases including, but not limited to lupus, tendonitis, arthritis, myositis, scleroderma, and osteoporosis. - Prescribe anti-inflammatory drugs and other medications. - Formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans. - Refer to occupational or physical therapy as required. - Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings. Qualifications Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications - Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent - Completion of three year post graduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in Internal Medicine. Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Completion of a Rheumatology Fellowship - Board Eligible/Board Certified in Rheumatology - Candidate must possess a New York State License - Be eligible for DEA registration - Be eligible for Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement - BLS or ACLS certification - Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written. - Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.
