Job Description Pride Health is hiring! Surgical Coordinator Location: Manhattan, NY 10002 Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Contract: 4 months (with possible extensions) Job Summary The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all OR surgeries and procedures. This role ensures smooth front-office workflow, verifies patient demographics, obtains pre-certifications from insurance carriers, and secures medical clearances. The coordinator will serve as a liaison between referring physicians and surgeons, schedule post-op visits, and manage communications regarding O.R. scheduling. Responsibilities also include training and mentoring junior staff, maintaining hospital reservations and pre-admit data in CERNER, and handling patient inquiries regarding policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Coordinate all OR surgeries and procedures Monitor and adjust front office workflow to ensure optimal service delivery Verify patient demographics and obtain insurance pre-certifications Obtain patient medical clearance prior to procedures Make surgical confirmation calls one day in advance Schedule post-op follow-up visits with providers Serve as liaison between referring physicians and surgeons Train and mentor Surgical Scheduling Coordinators or junior staff Collect and distribute required paperwork to internal and external parties Record hospital reservation and pre-admit data in the CERNER system Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills & Experience Minimum 2 years of surgical scheduling experience Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong customer relations abilities Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Education Required: High School Diploma Preferred: Associate’s Degree Certifications & Licensure Preferred: Certificate in Medical Technology Certificate in ICD-9 Certificate in CPT Coding HealthcareJobs SurgicalCoordinator OperatingRoom ORScheduling HospitalJobs HealthcareAdministration NYCHealthcareJobs ManhattanJobs HealthcareCareers MedicalOfficeJobs PrideHealthHiring If you’re interested, please reach out at (917)-444-3132 Or email your resume to vrunda.sutaria@pride -health.com
