Job Description Job Description Port Jefferson ASC is a
multispecialty surgery center with six operating rooms located in
Port Jefferson Station . Seeking an experienced operating room Rad
Tech with expert knowledge of the C-Arm OEM 9800 and OEM 9900. •
Possesses necessary knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the
human body as well as the ability to recognize abnormal anatomy. •
Performs radiology exams using C-Arm with good placement judgment
in scanning, photographing and documenting anatomy & pathology. •
Demonstrates competency in handling C-Arm equipment, correct
exposure and location to ensure ALARA is met. • Assists physician
with placement of radiographic imaging equipment for the
intra-operative phase of care. • Possesses vocabulary of C-Arm
imaging techniques, association by recognition and understands
functional applications. • Retains advanced aptitude for technical
knowledge and the functional use of C-Arm equipment, and
sophisticated supplies. • Maintains the sterile field and acts
appropriately with corrective action when sterility has been
breached. • Astute awareness to rapidly changing conditions in the
work environment that requires rapid intervention and appropriate
action. • Manages competing demands based on thorough investigation
or under the direction of the physician. • Able to read and
interpret technical written information or instructions for use and
applies according to operate equipment safely. • Possesses the
knowledge and abilities to complete the process of imaging storage
and reproduction in hard copy upon request. • Methodically applies
rational thought to practices which ensure an environment of safety
for the patient when radiation is present. • Consistently applies
hand hygiene practices and other aseptic techniques before, during
and after administering direct patient care. • Protects patient
privacy during direct patient care and the understanding of HIPAA
ruling of PHI.
