Job Title: Clinical Nurse Manager Profession: Nursing Specialty: Clinical Nurse Management Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: RN License Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) Must-Have: - Graduate of an accredited RN program - Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently - Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by regulatory agencies - Must meet the general health requirements set forth by facility policies, including a medical and physical examination - Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds - Perform tasks that may involve exposure to blood/body fluids - Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary Description: The Clinical Nurse Manager will coordinate the delivery of resident care. Responsible for the recommendation, development, and implementation of policies and procedures. As the leader of the team, the Nurse Manager maintains the operational aspect of the assigned unit in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Understands the organization's mission and core values and incorporates them into daily practice. Continually strives to improve systems and processes. Makes decisions as a member of the team to fulfill the mission and vision. Treats every resident, family member, and co-worker with dignity, respect, and courtesy. Supports a clinical practice environment where nursing staff provides exceptional care for the residents. Creates and supports an environment of staff engagement and involvement. Establishes relationships with residents, their families, and guardians. Demonstrates excellent communication skills and ensures ongoing education of residents and their families. Encourages families to partake in the care of the residents. Assures that staff schedules are consistent with residents' needs. Provides accountability for established standards of care. Regularly conducts staff meetings to disseminate information to all appropriate parties. Participates in creating policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Ensures all team members are knowledgeable in these areas. Maintains standards of care and oversees compliance with care planning processes and facility policies. Adheres to infection control standards and safety protocols. Establishes and maintains a systematic process for ensuring all nursing staff documentation is completed in accordance with facility policy and procedure. Actively seeks resolution to situations that may arise on the unit. Completes incident reporting and root cause analysis in compliance with facility procedure. Works in collaboration with the team to ensure that documentation for the nursing process is completed in a timely manner. Ensures all documentation meets regulatory requirements. Continually assesses the resources needed to effectively manage and uphold standards of care. Seeks resources needed, including supplies, equipment, maintenance, and environmental services support. Demonstrates knowledge of the progressive disciplinary process for employees. Utilizes the progressive disciplinary process to provide feedback regarding performance. Demonstrates understanding of policies that monitor resident care issues, family complaints, or variations from regulations. Communicates regularly with the Director of Nursing to ensure problems are solved and opportunities for improvement are identified. Collaborates with off-shift and other administrative personnel to ensure consistency of practice across all shifts.
