Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN - Stepdown - Contract - MSH Position Details: - Location: Mount Sinai Hospital, 1468 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10029 - Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days/week - Shift Type: 12 hours - Requirements: Must have Stepdown experience in a hospital setting, BSN required, minimum 2 years experience Summary: The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent, quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Patient Care - Deliver patient care using Relationship Centered Care and nursing process based on evidence-based practice and standards. - Assess and evaluate patient care needs with critical thinking. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and evaluate care plans. - Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention. - Manage assignments within the Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model. Patient Experience - Role model Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care practices including hourly rounding and bedside reports. - Maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families. - Address patient concerns and escalate as necessary. - Demonstrate empathy, respect, and active listening. Quality and Safety - Practice safe, efficient, patient-centered care. - Participate in quality improvement projects and institutional review processes. - Identify and escalate safety hazards following institutional protocols. - Document nursing practice to support quality initiatives. Operations - Perform charge nurse duties as assigned. - Coordinate supply management and escalate shortages. - Document accurately following hospital and regulatory standards. - Facilitate patient throughput efficiently. Professional Development - Support clinical colleagues and the healthcare team. - Advance clinical competence and project a professional image. - Incorporate ethical decision-making. - Engage in lifelong learning and shared decision-making through committees. Skills & Qualifications: - NYS RN License - BLS Certification - Minimum 2 years cardiology, telemetry, and VAD experience - Minimum 2 years RN experience - Travel experience preferred (1 year) but not required for Per Diem - EPIC experience highly preferred - BSN Required HonorVet Technologies Job ID 31561526.
