Job Description Occupational Therapist- Per Diem /n The Per Diem
Occupational Therapist is forward-thinking who excels at assessing
patients’ strengths and weaknesses and devising creative but
effective treatment plans. Therapists must practice discretion &
maintain patient confidentiality. Must operate a high-energy,
positive-thinking environment and offer patients positive
encouragement to achieve their goals. You will be expected to
utilize your training and skills to aid patients in the goal of
healing, recovering, improving pain level/tolerance, and maximizing
functional independence. Occupational Therapist examines patients
using fundamental clinical knowledge, implements a treatment plan
and executes plan of care. We are also seeking an applicant with
experience in Hand Therapy. The ideal applicant will have
comprehensive knowledge of Hand Therapy screens/evaluations,

Bachelor’s or master’s Degree required, Doctorate degree preferred
/n • Licensed Occupational Therapist /n • Certified Hand Therapist
(CHT) preferred, but not required /n • 1 years of experience
working in an outpatient hand therapy center preferred /n •
Completed state regulated CEU requirement in appropriate state (NY,
NJ) /n • Valid CPR License /n • Experience/knowledge with an EMR
software is preferred /n • Excellent oral, written communication /n
• Strong clinical decision-making skills /n • 1 year(s)
professional OT experience /n • Excellent work ethic and dedication
to patient success /n • Basic computer skills /n • Works as a team
member and individually with minimal supervision /n • Maintains a
positive, professional demeanor at all times /n What You’ll Do: /n
• Performs comprehensive evaluations, assessments, and
interventions for patients with post-surgical and non-surgical
Upper Extremity diagnoses. /n • Fabricates custom orthoses for
patients with various orthopedic upper extremity diagnoses. /n •
Collects and records patient care data that follows format and
guidelines of the patient care service, regulatory agencies and
third-party payers which reflects an understanding of reimbursement
systems and their impact on patient care. /n • This includes, but
is not limited to, initial evaluation, daily notes,
reassessments/progress reports, discharge plans and communication
with members of the team. /n • Additionally records daily billing
and follows department guidelines for productivity. /n • Prepares
for the evaluation in accordance with department
policies/procedures and standards of practice including obtaining
patient history, exhibiting knowledge of patient diagnoses and
researching unfamiliar diagnoses. /n • Selects and administers
tests and measures. /n • Additionally, synthesizes evaluation
results to formulate the diagnosis, goals, prognosis and plan of
care. /n • Establishes treatment plan based on evaluation results,
goals and best practice. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team,
patients and patient’s support system. Assesses and re-assesses
need for modifications to plan of care and goals. /n • Identifies
need for consultations and/or refers the patient to another health
care professional or health care services. Initiates and completes
discharge plan. /n • Provides education/training to patient and/or
patient support system /n • Functional Training-This includes but
is not limited to therapeutic activities ADLs/IADLs, rehabilitation
equipment prescription and training /n • Musculoskeletal
Interventions-This includes but is not limited to therapeutic
exercise, joint mobilization and modalities /n • Provide data, note
writing using Prompt EMR for all treatments provided /n • Attends
annual JAG PT Billing and Coding seminar /n • Present 1 facility
level in- service annually /n • Promotes JAG PT in the community
through lectures/presentation /n • Demonstrates respectful
interactions with patients, colleagues, and others /n • Other
