Job Description As an Inspection Technician, you will be
responsible for conducting facility inspections and surveys on
utility-owned gas meters. This entry-level position requires a
valid driver's license and the ability to maintain professionalism
while entering customers' homes. It is crucial to have good
communication skills and a basic mechanical aptitude, with
backgrounds in cable technology, HVAC, piping, or auto mechanics
considered a plus. Responsibilities Perform periodic facility
inspections and surveys on utility-owned gas meters. Complete all
necessary documentation. Ensure readings and records are in
compliance with all company and regulatory requirements. Support
the successful completion of regulatory audits and inspections.
Conduct integrity surveys, including direct assessments and close
interval surveys. Perform audit reviews with operations and support
them during audits. Essential Skills Valid state driver's license.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High school
diploma or equivalent. Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft
Office Applications. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and
initiative skills. Ability to work both independently and as part
of a team. Intermediate knowledge of mathematics, algebra, and
mechanical aptitude. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience
in customer service-oriented roles. 1 year of driving experience.
Capability to interface with technical services, government

is a 100% field-based position requiring flexibility to travel
within the utility territory, primarily in Brooklyn and Queens.
Operations hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM, with
optional Saturday shifts. The role involves using a simple toolset
and equipment provided, including a flashlight, gas detector, and
handheld tablet. Training includes OSHA orientation and in-class
sessions with certification testing. The first 90 days serve as a
probationary period to assess competency. Job Type & Location This
is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Island City, NY.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 -
$20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may
depend on your job classification and length of employment.
