college, and beyond. Position Overview The Grades 5–8 Academic
Interventionist is a full-time instructional staff member who plays
a key role in supporting the academic growth of all middle school
students through structured, targeted, and data-informed literacy
and numeracy intervention. Reporting to an Assistant Principal and
working in close collaboration with both network and campus-based
instructional leaders, the Interventionist delivers high-impact
instruction that accelerates students' reading and math
proficiency. This role is designed to provide rotational support to
all students approximately once per week through a combination of
blended learning platforms and small group instruction, with a
specific emphasis on foundational literacy and numeracy skills. The
Interventionist ensures instruction is aligned to Brilla's
Classical model and responsive to student progress data, working
across classrooms to complement core instruction and extend
learning for students who require more time and support. An ideal
candidate is organized, flexible, and passionate about closing

every instructional space. Core Competencies & Responsibilities
Plan and lead daily Tier 2 and Tier 3 small group and classroom
intervention intervention sessions in math, reading, and/or writing
based on identified student needs. Regularly review diagnostic and
formative assessment data (e.g., NWEA, state exams, classroom
performance) to adjust instructional plans and track student
growth. Partner with general education and student services
teachers to share student progress, co-plan differentiated
supports, and coordinate push-in and pull-out services. Help
maintain and strengthen the campus MTSS process by documenting
interventions, tracking progress monitoring data, and contributing
to student support meetings. Adapt intervention materials and
instructional methods to reflect the Classical approach to learning
and Brilla's core virtues. Establish trusting, supportive
relationships with students and families; communicate proactively
and compassionately about student progress and support plans.
Attend weekly content and strategy sessions; seek out feedback and
coaching to refine instructional practices and deepen content
knowledge. Participate in community events, family engagement
opportunities, and joyful schoolwide traditions that build a
cohesive, mission-aligned environment. Maintain up-to-date records
of student data, intervention notes, and progress reports to inform
instructional decisions and share with key stakeholders. Model
Brilla's commitment to character, professionalism, and
mission-aligned excellence in all interactions with colleagues,
students, and families. Support classroom material inventory,
maintain instructional resources, and uphold instructional systems
that foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Bachelor's degree required (degree in education, special education,
or related field preferred) Middle school teaching certification
strongly preferred 2 years of teaching or small group instruction
experience with demonstrated student growth Experience with
instructional interventions, data analysis, and/or RTI/MTSS systems
Strong instructional knowledge in reading and math content (grades
5–8) Experience working with students with disabilities and/or MLLs
preferred Exceptional collaboration, communication, and
organization skills Deep commitment to continuous professional
learning and development Appreciation for Classical education,
virtue formation, and holistic student growth Spanish language
proficiency a plus Qualifying Tasks Portfolio of student
achievement data showing accelerated growth Sample intervention
plan with rationale and progress monitoring Live demonstration or
recorded lesson with a small group Coaching conversation or data
