more details. About the Team MUFG’s Leasing & Asset Finance (LAF)
team is not your typical equipment leasing group. We operate as a
structured finance unit within MUFG’s Global Corporate & Investment
Bank, delivering bespoke leasing and secured debt solutions that
help CFOs and Treasurers achieve strategic financial objectives.
Our deals are complex, high-value, and tailored – often involving
finance leases, synthetic leases, and other asset-based structures.

The Opportunity We’re seeking a high-performing Associate who
thrives in intellectually rigorous environments and is eager to
roll up their sleeves to work on structured financing transactions
with a leasing angle. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help
design, execute, and manage innovative financing structures for
MUFG’s clients. The ideal candidate will have approximately 3-5
years of relevant experience, with a strong background in
structured finance, credit analysis, and execution of financing
transactions. You’ll be part of a lean, entrepreneurial team that
values creativity, precision, and client impact. Responsibilities
Transaction Structuring and Innovation: Assist in the development
and execution of innovative transaction structures tailored to meet
the specific needs of corporate and sponsor clients. Leverage
knowledge of market dynamics to craft solutions that align with
client objectives and risk tolerance. Maintain awareness of
evolving market trends and regulatory changes to proactively
identify new product opportunities. Aid in the development of new
financial products, focusing on the economic, accounting, and
taxable income impact on both MUFG and our clients, building upon
MUFG’s existing suite of debt, partnership, and lease structures
that support the financing of physical assets Client Engagement and
Pitch Material Preparation: Prepare high-quality, insightful pitch
materials and presentations for client meetings. Collaborate with
relationship managers and product specialists to effectively
communicate the bank’s structured solutions and competitive
advantages. Conduct client research related to their financing
needs and key performance indicators, industry trends, asset due
diligence. Attend client meetings to present solutions, address
queries, and foster strong client relationships. Transaction
Execution and Documentation: Lead the end-to-end execution of
transactions, including preparation of detailed term sheets,
negotiation of credit agreements, and coordination of transaction
documentation. Perform financial analysis determining the economic,
accounting, and tax results of a wide range of large ticket
transactions, structures, and syndicated arrangements. Work closely
with internal legal, compliance, and risk teams to ensure all
transactions comply with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the
transaction process, ensuring clear and timely communication.
Internal Approvals and Stakeholder Management: Drive the internal
business and credit approval process by preparing credit
applications and transaction memos for senior management.
Collaborate with credit, legal, risk, and compliance teams to
address concerns and secure necessary approvals. Ensure that all
transaction components align with the bank’s risk appetite and
strategic goals. Post-Closing Transaction Management: Oversee and
manage transactions post-closing, including monitoring of ongoing
compliance with credit terms. Proactively manage any modifications
or restructuring requests in collaboration with clients and
internal stakeholders. Provide support for internal reporting
requirements related to the transaction. Skills & Experience
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics,
accounting, or related field. 3–5 years of experience in structured
finance, credit solutions, or asset-based lending. Strong critical
thinking abilities, attention to detail, business writing and oral
communication skills Excellent communication and presentation
abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced
environment. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial
modeling. Well-organized, self-starter and capable of working with
minimal supervision Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and
ability to work well in a team environment Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (MBA, CPA, CFA, JD). Familiarity with US GAAP
and/or IFRS. Experience with lease structuring, credit
documentation, and syndication. Knowledge of credit agreement
negotiation, legal documentation, and risk management Compensation
and Benefits The typical base pay range for this role is between
$155K - $180K depending on job-related knowledge, skills,
experience and location with eligibility for discretionary
performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
