Job Description Job Description Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle Representative (Onsite) Location: Valhalla, NY Pay: $21-$25/hour (based on experience) Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Employment Type: 800-hour contract-to-hire Work Setting: Fully onsite About the Role We are hiring a Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle Representative to support a healthcare organization specializing in hospital and long-term care services . This role focuses on the full revenue cycle , including claim submission, follow-up, denial resolution, and collections. This is an onsite position in Valhalla, NY and offers the opportunity to convert to a permanent role after the contract period for strong performers. The team works with a mix of commercial insurance (approximately 75%) and Medicaid (approximately 25%) and recently transitioned to a new EMR system, making adaptability and attention to detail important. What You'll Be Doing Prepare and submit hospital and long-term care claims, both electronically and manually Work the full revenue cycle from billing through collections Review, research, and resolve denied or underpaid claims Track and manage accounts receivable aging to reduce outstanding balances Follow up on claims using payer portals, phone calls, and written correspondence Maintain and coordinate authorizations required for claim payment Post payments accurately and complete reconciliation adjustments Communicate with insurance companies to obtain claim status and resolve issues Respond to patient and family billing questions in a professional and timely manner Assist families with Medicaid application paperwork when needed Support audit requests and provide required documentation Participate in system updates, training sessions, and team meetings Provide coverage for other billing team members as needed Meet productivity and quality benchmarks set by leadership Systems & Insurance EMR: Epic Expanse (recently transitioned from Meditech) Insurance Mix: Commercial insurance (~75%) Medicaid (~25%) Qualifications High School Diploma required; Associate's degree preferred Ideally 3 years of medical billing or revenue cycle experience Experience with billing and collections required Hospital billing experience preferred, but physician billing (PB) experience is acceptable Experience working with Medicaid and commercial insurance plans Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Clear, professional communication skills Why This Opportunity Consistent weekday schedule with no weekends Onsite role with a stable healthcare organization Exposure to hospital and long-term care billing Opportunity to convert to a permanent position after the contract period Collaborative team environment with clear expectations For California Applicants: We will consider for employment all qualified Applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable federal, state and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance (FCIHO), Los Angeles Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers (ULAC), The San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance (FCO) , and the California Fair Chance Act (CFCA).
