As a Senior AI Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing the mortgage and homeownership industry. Together with the stakeholders and the team, you will be leading, crafting, and shaping artificial intelligence capabilities in our wholly owned Tinman Loan Origination System. AI will power the latest features for our Homeowner customers, Loan Officers, Underwriters, and more. In this role, you will build core artificial intelligence capabilities, including virtual assistants in both voice and chat bot form and implementing the tools these agents interact with across our vast platform.Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the product team to innovate and iterate on existing services and develop new ones, with a focus on enhancing the digital mortgage origination process.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable software solutions that power Better's digital mortgage origination platform, utilizing a variety of technologies and programming languages.
• Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the digital mortgage origination process.
• Work closely with the compliance team to ensure that all software solutions adhere to strict state and federal regulations governing the mortgage industry.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and drive the implementation of features and enhancements aimed at improving the digital mortgage origination experience for customers and internal users.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in software engineering, mortgage technology, and regulatory requirements, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance Better's digital mortgage origination platform.Qualifications
  • Master's degree in engineering preferred
  • 5+ years of full stack experience. Proficient in Typescript, Python, ReactJS, developing RESTful APIs and CRUD operations.
  • Experience build virtual chatbots, agents, implementing tools with OpenAI or similar vendors required
  • Excited to work in a fast paced, high growth startup environment.
  • A commitment to writing understandable, maintainable, and tested software.
  • A desire to deliver and a strong sense of accountability for your work.
